Confident and Classic City Chic - WIWW

I must first apologize for the quality of this week's pictures. My camera charger is missing and I've officially killed the battery, so these pictures were taken with my phone. If I still don't have my charger by next week, maybe I will do a What I Wore Wednesday post using my selfie stick! Yep, you read that correctly, I have a selfie stick and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

So there I was, out for one of the first times since having Charlotte and I came across this poncho at Ann Taylor on the clearance rack. It wasn't like anything I've ever bought, but when I tried it on, the transformation was instant. I no longer felt insecure or frumpy; I felt stylish and chic! Needless to say, this little gem went home with me. And now over a year later, I still find it to be one of my favorite pieces especially on a day when I need a confidence boost!

I can't help but feel like Mary Tyler Moore when I wear this outfit which for some reason raises my sass level tenfold (I feel bad for my colleagues). Regardless, we must all have an outfit that makes us feel a million bucks no matter what the day throws at you. This goes to show that you don't always have to be super dressed up to feel fabulous.

What is your go to outfit that makes you feel on top of the world? Do you wear it enough? I challenge all of you to dig out that outfit, article of clothing or even accessory and wear it this week to give yourself a well deserved ego boost!

Monogrammed Quilted Vest - WIWW

Who's ready to bust out that fall wardrobe? I know I am! You hear me say it every year, but this is truly my favorite time of the year for so many reasons. The weather, the holidays, the clothes, these are just a few reasons why this time of year makes me giddy. Speaking of clothes, how cute are these Old navy vests?! As soon as I saw these with their adorable gold zippers, I just knew I had to have one (or 2). And once I got these bad boys home, I slapped on a gold monogram and voila, my most favorite wardrobe piece was born!

I don't normally buy things in this color, but I decided that I needed to try something other than my standard red, pink and blue. I'm kinda diggin' the green and find it super easy to incorporate into my current wardrobe. For this outfit I kept it simple and paired it with boots, jeans and a white tee. So there you have it, my new essential wardrobe piece; the quilted vest.

I will be posting these vests for sale on my Instagram account this weekend only. Sizes, colors and quantities are limited, so be sure your following for all the latest sale updates. They will be $45 monogrammed and shipped.

DisneyBound

Warning: This is an extremely Disney Nerd post - proceed with caution.

For a few years now, I've seen these Disney inspired outfits on Pinterest where they modeled an everyday outfit after a Disney character. But it wasn't until last week, that my friend told me it's a real thing. People take these outfits that they create on sites like Polyvore and wear them to the parks; it's called DisneyBounding, and apparently it's pretty huge. In fact, there is a whole tumblr account dedicated to it.

Since I have a few trips coming up, I figure why not give it a try and see if it's really all that it's cracked up to be. After all, I already subconsciously dress in Disney themes while I'm there, so this is the same thing just with a little more planning involved, right?

What I like about this is it allows me to show my Disney side without sacrificing fashion by looking like a tourist. So off to Polyvore I went to create a few looks that I'm going to give a try.

Disneybound Minnie Mouse

I already own most of this outfit (shocking, I know). The goal is to actually be able to recreate these looks without going broke from having to buy tons of new outfits. The ears, bracelets, jeans and purse I already own, so I just need to get some yellow shoes and a good Minnie Mouse polka dot top to sport this look.

Disneybound Ariel

This Ariel outfit is probably my favorite. So much so that I would probably wear this to work. The belt, shoes, bow and dress (similar) I already own. I just need to get some fun seashell jewelry and a purple cardigan and I'll be all set!
Disneybound Donald Duck

Nautical is so in right now so I thought I'd give Donald Duck a try. This one I don't have much for, but I think I could do it on the cheap. I just need to get a good sailor dress, some nautical earrings and reuse the yellow shoes from the Minnie outfit.

So hopefully you are still reading and aren't judging too hard right now, but I totally understand if you are. I know this isn't for everyone, but I just wanted to let my Disney nerd side out. These DisneyBound outfits give me something different to plan for and do while on my trips. Stay tuned for them in action!

My First Lilly Pants - WIWW

The warm weather is here to stay, which can only mean one thing...it's Lilly season! In case you are new here, let me fill you in, I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer. And now that I'm not pregnant (Lilly really needs a maternity line), it means I can wear Lilly all day everyday, right?! If only it were that simple.

As I was dusting off my Lilly's that haven't seen the light of day in nearly two years, I notice something; all the tags seem to have really small numbers written on them. Oh yeah, two years ago I was a much smaller person and didn't just have a baby. What's a Lilly lovin' girl to do?!

To the sale racks! Or should I say discount sites? Rue La La saves the day and has an epic Lilly sale just in the nick of time. When I saw these pants I new it was meant to be, then I saw the only ones left were in my (post baby) size and it was fate.

I'm still a long ways away from being comfortable doing outfit posts with my new post partum body, which explains why some weeks I don't even post an one. Even though I see so many things I want to change in these pictures, I'm posting it anyway because I can't keep these amazing pants to myself.

Outfit Details:
Shirt//Target
Cardigan//Target
Pants//Lilly Pulitzer
Shoes//Jack Rogers

My favorite thing about these pants is that they are made of denim and not that stretchy cotton that tends to show every flaw, bump and line. Can we also talk about the cute little added detail of the zipper at the ankle? Yeah, so basically these are my new favorite pants. If only they were a little more inconspicuous, I would wear them at least once a week!

Let's not forget, Charlotte has the matching bow, so getting these pants was definitely a must!

I may or may not have already borrowed it.
