10.11.12

Isn't today's date fun?! For me it's more than just a series of consecutive numbers, it's our wedding anniversary!  Two years ago today, I got to marry my second half, my best friend, my everything. In the past two years we have laughed, cried, fought but most importantly loved each other unconditionally. I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but instead thought I would share some of my favorite wedding photos! (I apologize, there are a TON!)

Well there you have it. Our wedding in a nutshell! Enjoy!

Training Tuesday - Oct 9

Why is it that after a vacation you are left feeling more tired and behind then you were before you left?! While I managed to get ALL my runs in while in Disney, I came home with no motivation. I should have run Thursday and Saturday, but instead I skipped them......

At least I was motivated while on vacay! Working out with the gym all to myself!

I'm over being upset about it. I still have 3 months before the marathon and 2 runs aren't going to make or break me. I attempted the long run twice this week but have decided to just let it go. I wanted to run the half marathon course that I'm doing this weekend to get a feel for it, but work stood in the way on Saturday and weather prevented me from doing it on Sunday. (Read: Chickened out) It was decided that my running partner and I would give it a try after work on Monday....NOT! He was feeling under the weather and I talked to my friend who has run a number of marathons and she told me I'd be stupid if I ran 13 miles just 1 week before my 13 mile race. Just the justification I needed! You don't have to tell me twice! So long story short, I've decided to run 5 miles tonight and 4 miles on Thursday. Then the race will be on Sunday.

So there you have it, my boring and not so successful training update. I love hearing about everyone else's training plans so link up with me and share!

Weekend Recap

I LOVE that the fall weather looks like it's here to stay! To get into the spirit of the season, I took advantage of a sale at LOFT this weekend and picked up a few pieces at 60% off!! PLUS, if you use your LOFT card and spend $100 or more you get an additional 25% off. Not to mention I had $20 in rewards to spend, so I figured this was the perfect time to shop! I spent a total of $65 on everything I got below.

First up is this comfy sweater ($15). I fell in love with the colors and the fact that it is long so it will look great with skinny jeans. (I feel like long shirts are going to be hard to find this season) If I am supposed to still wear skinny jeans, why would I want to wear a cropped shirt with them?! I'm not a model and this look is not the most flattering. So I've decided to sacrifice being fashion forward to dress size appropriately. (end rant)

Next, I found this adorable dress. I have been wanting some animal print for a while, and this season it seems bigger then ever! Couldn't beat the price! ($24)

Last but not least I am a sucker for colored skinny jeans. I have tried to buy them at other places and have just realized that LOFT jeans fit me perfectly so I need to just stick with what works. I had MAJOR drama deciding on what color but after some debate and advice from my girlfriends I went with the maroon ($45).

If you're adding up the 3 pieces and noticing that it's $84 and not $65 like I said, I promise I'm not lying. All of that was before the $20 rewards card I mentioned above. See now it all makes sense!

What have been your favorite fall finds or trends so far this season?

High Five for Friday! - Oct 5

I love short weeks! It's nice to come back from vacation and only have to work 2 days before another weekend! I know everyone is probably done with all my Disney posts, so I'll try to make this High 5 more "normal" (if that's even possible).

  1. Turned around as we were leaving Magic Kingdom and saw this. Perfect last shot of the trip!
  2. Went to FedEx to drop something off at the company's suite and couldn't help but steal a shot of the field with absolutely no one in the stands. Definitely not something you see everyday.
  3. My in-laws got us a signed bottle of Pinot Gris from the MacMurray Vineyard for our anniversary. Can't wait to drink it next week!
  4. Milo was super happy to have his house back after being boarded for a week.
  5. Got my hair cut just right...FINALLY! (only took 3 tries)

Enchanted Tales with Belle - Sneak Peak

With only 2 months to go until a big chunk of the New Fantasyland opens to the public, I was hoping to run into some attraction testing. I knew they were "play testing" Enchanted Tales with Belle because just a few weeks prior, my parents got to see it, so i figured I would try my luck and hopefully see a preview!

We walked up to the new castle walls and saw a cast member standing outside a hidden door. I immediately went up to her and asked what was on the other side? She explained they were testing the new attraction and if i wanted to check it out I could. Woooo DAY MADE!!!

We all walked through the door and immediately was transported to Belle's village. You could see the new Beast Castle sitting on top of the hill as well as Maurice's cottage where Belle grew up. The theming throughout this area was very well done. It's easier to show you rather than explain:

The outside part of the queue was a little hot as it is in direct sunlight, (we were warned by the CM) but moved pretty quickly and before we knew it we were in the shade then inside!

This attraction consists of 4 (air conditioned) rooms that each have so much to look at so you don't feel like you are waiting. Once you are inside you feel like you are in the attraction the whole time even though it really doesn't start for another 2 rooms.

You first go into the front of the cottage which has a lot of details of Belle's childhood like a picture of her and her mom, various details complete with her childhood growth chart (makes for a good photo opp). About 20 people fit in this room and you wait only about 5 minutes.

The next room is Maurice's (her inventor father) workshop. Here you can see his inventions in real life from the movie! However the focal point of this room is a magic gold framed mirror that you are told is a gift from the Beast so he can see Belle anytime he wants. This is the most impressive part of the attraction in my opinion as this mirror stretches and expands to a passage way that leads you to room number 3!

You walk through the mirror/passageway and you are taken into a room that has the animated wardrobe from the movie (another great effect). In this room they cast all the parts to tell the story of how Belle and the Beast fell in love.

The last and final room is the library where you get to meet Belle in a fun and intimate setting. Basically this entire attraction is an interactive meet and greet. Instead of standing in line and getting a few seconds and maybe a picture with Belle, the kids get to be a part of a story she tells and interacts with each one. The room holds about 25 people and the ones sitting are mostly the parents or family of the children who are in the story.

At the very end she takes a bow with each participant while a photopass photographer captures the moment. As you leave the room the photographer hands out a special photopass card to anyone who had a family member in the story so they can relive the entire event.

While this is not a thrilling ride, it is a good place to get out of the heat and meet a princess in a special and unique way. Definitely a must see if you have children!

See You Real Soon...

The worst part of vacation....leaving. Vacations always seem to short, but while I'm sad to be leaving, I'm looking forward to seeing Milo again, sleeping in my own bed, and getting back to my daily routine!

We are driving back today so I'll just leave you with some fun pictures from the week (I apologize if you are Disney-ed out).

Stay tuned tomorrow for an exclusive preview of a new attraction that is not scheduled to open until December. We got a first look!

Training Tuesday - Week 13

As you know, I've been on vacation all week. HOWEVER, I've still managed to work out according to my training program!! I'm very happy about this because I've always been the girl who "says" I'm going to work out, but never do. Don't get me wrong, I always have the intention, I mean I waste the room in my suitcase to bring everything, I just never "get around to it" (that's the excuse I use any way).

So for those of you following my training, let me catch you up on what you might have missed! I had a rough week last week. I was supposed to run 13 miles but the weekend came and went and no miles were ran. Lucky for me, my friend convinced me to run the 13 on Tuesday (instead of Saturday - stats here) before I left for vacation and boy am I glad I did!

Moving on to this week. Since I had a long run last week, I only had a 4 mile run on the schedule for Saturday along with my two training runs. I counted the 13 miles on Tuesday as a training run (yes, it counts as last week's long run, AND this week's training run. I never claimed to be perfect). Then I found the gym at the resort and ran 3 on Thursday and 4 on Saturday.

Here are my stats for those workouts:

Ok, I'm aware this run is only 2 miles, but there is a reason for that. The machine quit (I could have accidentally hit the emergency stop button) on me after 1 mile! There isn't much to tell. The first mile was 9:43 so I did a total of 3 miles in 28:19 (my math could be wrong, but you get the picture).

You will notice these runs seem slower than my other treadmill runs. That is because my treadmill sits in my every so slightly sloped downward garage and the calibration might be off, so it's good to run other treadmills to see how different it is. :)

In case you missed it on Friday's update, here is a snapshot of the 13 mile run:

Disclaimer: You'll notice the pace is a 12min mile.  This is because we walked the last 3 miles due to the fact we didn't bring water or gels....ooops

I plan to run 13 again this weekend to get prepared for the Heritage Hunt Half Marathon, then the following week is the Army 10 Miler. I guess it's safe to say my training is now in full force!

Here is one of my favorite pictures from the trip so far. I don't care how old you are, there is something about that castle that is just breathtaking. Tell me I'm wrong, I dare you!

Grab a button and link up with me and tell me how your training is going!
