Like Mother Like Daughter - WIWW
The second I found out I was having a girl, visions of matching outfits instantly popped into my head! I know my time is limited where I can get away with this, so while I have the chance, we shall match!
It's only a matter of time (already working on it) before we have an entire matching wardrobe! It's probably a good thing/dangerous for my budget that I found this site that specializes in mommy and me outfits! I think next spring I will be splurging and buying us one of these "just like mommy" dresses.
In the meantime, we will continue to match as best we can with what we've got especially when what we've got is coordinating Lilly Pulitzer! Thank goodness for consignment shops and Freecycle Facebook groups!
The best part is my friend has the exact same dress from Old Navy and decided she wanted to dress like her little girl too. Good thing we weren't together at the time!

My First Lilly Pants - WIWW
The warm weather is here to stay, which can only mean one thing...it's Lilly season! In case you are new here, let me fill you in, I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer. And now that I'm not pregnant (Lilly really needs a maternity line), it means I can wear Lilly all day everyday, right?! If only it were that simple.
As I was dusting off my Lilly's that haven't seen the light of day in nearly two years, I notice something; all the tags seem to have really small numbers written on them. Oh yeah, two years ago I was a much smaller person and didn't just have a baby. What's a Lilly lovin' girl to do?!
To the sale racks! Or should I say discount sites? Rue La La saves the day and has an epic Lilly sale just in the nick of time. When I saw these pants I new it was meant to be, then I saw the only ones left were in my (post baby) size and it was fate.

I'm still a long ways away from being comfortable doing outfit posts with my new post partum body, which explains why some weeks I don't even post an one. Even though I see so many things I want to change in these pictures, I'm posting it anyway because I can't keep these amazing pants to myself.
Outfit Details:
Shirt//Target
Cardigan//Target
Pants//Lilly Pulitzer
Shoes//Jack Rogers
Let's not forget, Charlotte has the matching bow, so getting these pants was definitely a must!
I may or may not have already borrowed it.

High Five for Summer!
Today is the official start to summer and I'm celebrating by wearing Lilly on "National Wear Your Lilly Day"! I can't wait to see every one's Lilly today! In other news, today is also my one year anniversary of this here blog! I can't believe it's been a year. The only reason this is still going is through the love and support I get from YOU! I thank each and every one of you for making me sit down and write about life, crafts and fashion. You guys are the best!
Enough of the sappiness, it's high five for Friday so here are some of my highlights from the week!
Enough of the sappiness, it's high five for Friday so here are some of my highlights from the week!
- There is a BBQ truck that comes right by my work a few days a week, so I HAD to check it out! Nothing like fresh, home cooked BBQ to break up the work day!
- I am going to a mustache themed birthday party so I decided to make my own shirt. Of course it is Disney themed. :)
- I got the most super soft blanket from Bed Bath and Beyond for my birthday and I'm in love. Also so is Milo. Seriously, this blanket is a piece of heaven. I highly recommend it.
- Our development does movies on the lawn during the summer on Fridays and it's always a good time. We saw Rise of the Guardians and couldn't have asked for a more perfect night!
- I have quickly become obsessed with Alex and Ani bracelets after I received my first one for my birthday. I have since purchased two more: Washington Nationals and a "B".
I'm excited for cookouts and parties this summer! Bring it on!

My Weekend
This weekend somehow managed to be a productive one while being a bit under the weather. All last week I kept waking up progressively sicker and then by Friday I had a full blown, knock you on your butt cold. BOOOOO
Saturday I woke up pretty miserable but the sun was shining and my husband forced convinced me to stop laying around in my filth and to seize the day! (It really went down more like this: Bribed me with donuts then told me to shower, take some meds and we were going out!) Regardless how it went down, I'm glad I got myself up and moving because later I was able to catch up on some things around the house and turn an otherwise lazy Saturday into something productive.
Sunday, my friend Sarah and I decided to hit the Grand Opening of the Lilly Pulitzer store in Tysons. I managed to keep composure and not buy everything I saw, just an agenda and some croakies. I mainly went to check out the beautiful store and for the free champagne!
While we were out we decided to hit up a few other stores which somehow brought more champagne into the equation (Apparently I was out for champagne and not to shop! Oops). Needless to say we had a lot of fun! Oh, I almost forgot, I found the perfect dress for formal night on the cruise, I can't wait! It's one of those perfect timeless dresses that I can keep and wear even when I'm 40 (as long as I stay the same size) and not look outdated. Where's the picture you ask? I think I want to debut it on the ship where I will have the right shoes, hair and jewelry to go with it. Otherwise I will be doing the dress a huge injustice by just throwing it on, or even worse, taking a picture of it on the hanger!
Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and is staying healthy this winter so far. I must say, I'm grateful to finally be on the mend with this cold! Bring on Valentine's week!!
Almost forgot, cute Milo pic from the weekend. It just doesn't feel right without one!
