Training Tuesday - Week 11

SOOOO happy I completed all of week 11! It felt great to get to the end of the week and not feel guilty for missing a run.

During the week, I did two treadmill runs and then my long run on the trail. My treadmill runs went great! I was hardly winded and didn't stop to walk once!

Tuesday was 4.29 miles in 40 min and Thursday was 5 miles in 44:18 min.

Mike (running buddy from work) and I decided to do our long run on Sunday morning instead of Saturday. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful morning. It was 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Here are some pictures from the trail:

 Pretty stone bridge

This bridge was super long and a nice change from the dirt and rocks we were running on.

We had some storms on Saturday and I'm not sure if this was from them or from something else. Regardless, it was pretty neat to run but a completely uprooted tree.

View from the start of the run. Always the hardest part...getting started.

So, how did we do? Thanks to the Nike plus app, I can keep track of every step!

The training schedule called for me to run 11 miles as my long run, but we looped back to the car at 9.7 miles so instead of running out another .65 miles and back, we ran around the parking lot until we hit 10 miles. I can't stand to not finish on a whole number! All in all, it was a good run. I was a little disappointed with the time as it was slower than the 9 mile run. But the terrain definitely plays a huge factor in all of that. The second half had a ton of uphill parts that were killer! By that point I was already tired from being over halfway done, so we just walked those parts so as not to die.

Next week my training program calls for two maintenance runs and then a 4 mile long run. However, we are going to run 12 miles of the Heritage Half course to get used to that terrain (should be easier since it's pavement).

I've met some readers who are also training for various races and it got me thinking. Let's all get together and do a Tuesday link up! It would be a great place for us all to get together and maybe even meet people who are training for the same race! So what do you think? Let's give it a try this week. All you have to do is grab the button and link up below to share your motivation!

  1. Congrats on your full week and complete training!! That's awesome! Love the linkup. Me and two other girls are starting one on the weekends for all working out. Can I link those posts up with yours once we start that?

Also...what is your training plan? Do you have it all posted here somewhere? I am doing Hal Higdon level one and this week was supposed to be week 1. Can't wait to be able to start!!! Fingers crossed for Thursday. Do you have a training partner for the whole training cycle? How nice...I'm going to have to plan some running meetups.
